the chrysalis project (2023-24)

This is a participatory workshop program being developed as part of a creative residency at the Centre for Contemporary Photography.

Project summary

Individual perceptions of personal identity can be fluid, dynamic, and contentious. They can also contribute towards lived experiences of distress when self-identity is in a state of transition, challenge, and uncertainty.

The Chrysalis Project is a 6-week socially engaged arts-based workshop program to be delivered in 2024 at the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Naarm/Melbourne. It provides six young adults identifying as culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) an opportunity to explore their experiences around self-identity and belonging through a guided engagement with expanded reflective photographic practices.

Further details of this project will be published when its delivery schedule is confirmed.
